Veeam Agent for Linux - veeamsnap and blksnap Extended Linux Distribution Support
This article provides supplementary information regarding the compatibility of the veeamsnap and blksnap kernel modules with various Linux distributions and kernel versions. It specifically addresses distributions and versions that are not explicitly listed in the System Requirements for Veeam Agent for Linux.
Important Note:
The absence of a Linux distribution or version from the tables in this article does not indicate that it is unsupported or supported. This article exists solely to provide more granular kernel compatibility information for reference purposes. For determining supported platforms, always refer to the Veeam Agent for Linux User Guide.
The veeamsnap and blksnap kernel modules are used for Volume-Level Backup (excluding btrfs volumes) and File-level Backup (excluding Snapshot-Less File-Level Backup).

blksnap kernel module
In addition to the veeamsnap kernel module, Veeam Agent for Linux 6 introduced the blksnap kernel module for use on newer Linux kernels. Both modules are used for the same purpose: snapshot creation.
- Veeamsnap module is supported up to Linux kernel 5.18
- The Blksnap module is supported for Linux kernels starting from 5.10
The default installed module is listed in the Details column for each supported distribution and version.
